Package your Illustrator file (File > Package…) to collect all links and fonts. Then create an outlined version (.ai), export a PDF with bleed, and place both into the package folder. Zip the folder and send it to the printing house. (In urgent cases, you can skip the extra steps and just send the packaged folder directly.)

  1   Package file — contains all linked and original files.

  2   Original .ai file — editable version for both objects and text.

  3   Outlines file (.ai with _OL suffix) — text converted to outlines, used when editing objects only.

  4   Printable PDF — final file with no further edits, serves as a reference.

1. Create a package: File >   Package…   (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+P).
(In urgent cases, or if your printing house can handle the details, you can stop here and simply send them the packaged folder.)

2. Open the original file → unlock all objects (Alt+Ctrl+2) → Select All (Ctrl+A) → Type >   Create Outlines…  → save as a new .ai file (File  3  ).

3. From the file   3  , save as a PDF with bleed (File  4  ).

4. Place Files   3   and   4   into the package folder → zip the folder → send to the printing house.

Additional If you edit the Object by increasing or decreasing the size, you can use   Expand…   command to Expand stroke line before saving as file   3   and   4   by Select All first and go to Object > Expand > check only Stroke box > press OK. If you can’t press Expand, select Expand Appearance first and Select All again to Expand Stroke again.

Extra Tip

If resizing objects, select all → Object >  Expand…   (check Stroke only). If unavailable, use Expand Appearance first, then expand strokes again.
